OBJECTIVES
This project intends to apply an innovative approach based on intelligent data-driven techniques that integrates clinical, physiological and biopathological data of patients with cancer to predict the risk of (post-)operative complications. The expected outcome is the creation of an user-friendly web application (IPOscore), which includes a database to store/manage the data collected in a harmonized format and computational methods (such as data-driven algorithms, scored-based decision models and visualization techniques) to calculate a specific risk index for the Portuguese population (i.e., assess risk factors, identify surgical risk patterns and classify the patients according to their relevance). The IPOscore platform will not only manage the clinic data but also offers a predictive and preventative healthcare system.
